2008 FUNDRAISERS
The 2008 ANNUAL HOLIDAY EXTRAVAGANZA (please see the Extravaganza page) will be held December 13th at the Rosholt American Legion Hall offering MORE HOME BAKED GOODIES, Holiday gift trees, a special raffle and much more!
We've been in contact with Mr. and Mrs. Claus who have promised to make time at that busy time of year to be present for the children!

On October 4th the Rosholt Area Community Association Inc. was in Stevens Point participating in the DOZYNKI FESTIVAL (Polish Harvest Festival) AGAIN raffling a gorgeous display of goody filled baskets.

Mission statement of the Portage County Library system:
The library provides a wide range of materials, qualified staff and service to help citizens of Portage County obtain information to meet their personal, educational, career and business needs. The library seeks to support students and lifelong learners to stimulate young peoples' interest in, and appreciation of, reading and learning, encourage quality leisure-time activity for all the librarys' constituents and enhance their quality of life. The library provides both traditional library services such as book circulation and story hours as well as newer services such as access to electronic information, literacy support and serves as a community meeting place.
The following are Responsibilites of the Library Board:
- Exclusive control of all library expenditures
- Purchasing of a library site and the erection of the library building when authorized.
- Exclusive control of all lands, buildings, money and property acquired or leased by the municipality for library purposes.
- Supervising the administration of the library and appointing a librarian.
- Prescribing the duties and compensation of all library employees.
In addition to the regional headquarters, located in Stevens Point, the library system operates satellite branches in the Villages of Almond, Plover and Rosholt.
JUST THE FACTS:
There is no effort to remove the Rosholt Library from the Village of Rosholt. Any new library site and/or building WILL be determined STRICTLY and ONLY by the Portage County Library Board. By law no person or organization may OWN a public library.
